This is the large garden of an old manor farm with stunning views overlooking the chew valley lake. The 80m original natural stone wall to the front boundary needed rebuilding and a new copper beech hedge was planted allowing for the original croquet lawn to be reformed and used again.

At the front of the house a natural stone patio and low wall have been created to allow access from the kitchen patio doors to a small entertaining space, from here you can take in the stunning beautiful views of the lake and countryside. A path leads to the side and rear of the house where the old leylandii hedge has been removed, allowing light into the garden and the boundary pushed out with a newly planted hornbeam hedge to give privacy and more space to the rear garden. Herb beds have been formed close the rear door for ease of picking and a small gate leads into the paddocks and a small woodland created with trees underplanted with native plants and bulbs.

A large entertaining space has been created to the rear of the property with steps, off set, to wrap around the house, and an intimate lounging space formed with a rose covered pergola leading to a large lawn and a kitchen garden with a fruit cage, raised vegetable beds and a small orchard of fruit trees newly planted.

To the side of the house we have crafted a beautiful natural swimming pond with a decked area in a composite weathered oak that has views over the lake and surrounding countryside and created a curved serpentine boardwalk to take you through the space. The swimming pond is planted with a mix of aquatic plants and dry side planting with stepping stones that lead you on a journey through the planting. A stunning lily pond sits at the end of the swimming zone and a mix of mature trees have been brought into the garden to create structure and bring the whole garden together, framing views and enclosing private spaces.
