A large house and garden set in several acres of green parkland with huge majestic trees but, only 7 miles from the centre of London, has been an ongoing project for many years and continues to be so. We have created a series of 3 large ponds that connect by waterfalls and streams together with a reed bed placed at the top of the site. Water is allowed to be pumped through the 3 ponds which travel from the reed bed where the reeds clean the water and redistribute it back into the ponds to be circulated again. The use of boulders and rocks create a very natural landscape for the ponds and link them effortlessly. The ponds are planted with a mix marginal and deep water plants, one of the ponds created specifically to attract the wildlife planted with native pond plants and homes created for nature with easy access in and out for the wildlife. A bog garden planted with primulas and iris form a spectacular scene during the spring months. Several mature trees have been brought in to create immediate structure and height and a path designed to take you on a journey around the ponds, alongside the waterfalls, over the streams and though the bog garden.
